Window Dressing
My love of fabrics means that dressing windows is a real joy for me.
Roman blinds remain popular. They use the minimum amount of fabric, to the greatest effect. These blinds are simple, effective and unfussy, yet can be an opportunity to provide pattern, colour and texture to a room. A blind stacked above the window has the advantage of letting in more natural light than curtains.
Full length curtains never fail to add elegance to a space, whether simple and unfussy flat headed panels, or trimmed drapes with contrast details, hung from beautiful poles or under pelmets, with the addition of tiebacks. My curtains are made-to-measure, lined and interlined, with hand sewn headings.

Roller blinds are now available in an exciting range of cost-effective stock colours and patterns. Certain fabrics are suitable for roller blinds too and they can then be repeated in a scheme in other soft furnishings – cushions for example helping to co-ordinate the room. Rollers are a neat solution for kitchen windows.
Shutters, Plisse blinds and panel glide systems can offer specialist solutions to unusually shaped windows.
Venetian blinds are now available in metallic finishes, wood, eco-friendly faux wood, and even leather clad. Variation in slat width and choice of decorative tape colour means that these can be designed to truly complement a scheme. Coloured slats can even be mixed within a single blind.
